Description: Perhaps because we’re somewhat isolated by the Great Lakes, Michigan residents don’t usually realize how unique Michigan is, how different we are, even from our closest neighbors, in matters of policy and politics. Those differences make us better off in some ways, worse off in other ways. But Michiganders are usually surprised to hear that the rest of the country is so different!
